Live Cricket Score: India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to field against Australia in the third Test of the five-match series at the Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday. The series, currently tied at 1-1, has reached a crucial juncture as both teams aim to gain an upper hand.

India made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja in place of Harshit Rana and Ravichandran Ashwin. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood returned to the lineup after recovering from a side injury, replacing Scott Boland.

Explaining his decision at the toss, Rohit cited the overcast conditions, grass cover, and the softness of the pitch, suggesting that these factors could provide early assistance for the bowlers. He added that the surface is likely to improve for batting as the match progresses. “Big game for us here, we’ll do what is expected of us. We’ll play good cricket, we understand we have to capture some moments; we didn’t do that in the previous game, which is why we lost,” said Rohit.

Australia Playing XI: Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steven Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (w), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood

India Playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant (w), Rohit Sharma (c), Ravindra Jadeja, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep
