Virat Kohli has always been a lively and fun character on the field, whether the cricketing action is in full swing or not. On Day 1 of the 3rd Test match at The Gabba, Brisbane, which was washed out due to incessant rain, Kohli was seen in a jolly mood, sharing light-hearted moments with former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh. A video capturing this fun interaction quickly went viral, where Kohli was seen playfully teasing Harbhajan for his outfit.
The veteran spinner later revealed that Kohli was poking fun at his choice of attire. Harbhajan’s white outfit, which had a hint of pink, bore a striking resemblance to the iconic look of Bollywood actor Jeetendra from the movie Himmatwala. Kohli, who is known for his sharp observations and playful nature, immediately caught on to this resemblance and began teasing Harbhajan.

Not missing a chance to add some entertainment, Kohli broke into dance and performed the iconic steps from the song Naino Mein Sapna to further poke fun at Harbhajan. The light-hearted banter reflected the great camaraderie Kohli and Harbhajan share, stemming from their time playing together, including their memorable 2011 ODI World Cup triumph.
Harbhajan reveals interaction with Kohli
Harbhajan later shared the story on Star Sports, saying, “Today I was wearing a light pink and white jacket, which from a distance looked all-white. Then Virat Kohli said, ‘Aithe Jitendra aagya aa’ (Has Jeetendra come here?). He started humming Naino Mein Sapna from far behind. Then he began showing dance moves, which I couldn’t understand at first. He couldn’t stop himself and came closer to me to show the full dance steps. I jokingly thought I had made a mistake by wearing this outfit. If I had worn those white leather boots too, I would have completely resembled Jeetu ji!”
Kohli and Harbhajan’s light-hearted exchange was a reminder of the joy and humor that cricketers often bring to the game, even in moments when the action is halted. Their playful interaction added a delightful touch to an otherwise dull and rain-affected day in Brisbane.
