NEW DELHI: With the third Test between India and Australia for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy ending in a draw at The Gabba in Brisbane, the series is level at 1-1.
The fourth Test of the series is the traditional Boxing Day Test to be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26.
The official broadcaster of the series in India on Thursday shared a video of Indian cricketers departing from Brisbane to Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test.
The last time India played the Boxing Day Test at the MCG in December 2020, they registered an emphatic eight-wicket victory under the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane who, leading from the front, hit a magnificent 112 in the first innings.
That Boxing Day Test victory came after India were bundled out for their lowest Test score of 36 runs in the pink-ball Test in Adelaide.
And now with the series locked at 1-1 after India played out a draw at The Gabba, Rohit Sharma and his men got to be heading for Melbourne with confidence.
Overall, India has played 14 Test matches at the MCG, winning 4 and losing 8 with 2 ending in draws.
