'India becomes a big economy as a growing convergence with India': Jaishankar spoke at University College Dublin

Foreign Minister K Jaishankar on Friday discussed India’s growing alignment with Europe and emphasized the country’s economic progress at University College Dublin.
Speaking on “India’s View of the World” on Friday, Jaishankar mentions the recent visit of the Chairman of the European Commission Ursula von deer Leyen and 21 Commissioners for India. He focused on the conversation of the ongoing free trade agreement between India and the European Union, spreading for about 23 years, expressing optimism about finalizing it by the end of the year.
“It has another aspect, of course, Ireland As a member of the European Union. And here we are interacting and I am afraid that we are having a quite long conversation for a free trade agreement. We only had a visit to the President of the European Union with 21 commissioners of India, and we are probably a little more expecting this exercise, ideally from the conclusion of this year. Now, I want to share all our thoughts with you that we get growing convergence with Europe today because India becomes a big economy. We are currently fifth, we will definitely be third by the end of this decade. There is a lot that we are running with Europe, and again as an integral part of Ireland, will clearly benefit, “Jayashankar said.
Jaishankar highlighted adequate trade relations between India and Ireland, given that leading companies of the two countries have established operations in each other areas.
Discussing bilateral relations, Jaishankar said, “Economically we have a very strong level of trade, it is currently estimated in about 16 billion pounds, I suspect that it is slightly larger with Ireland and in fact our business in services is more than our business in goods with a large difference, and clearly for all.
He discussed the increase in tourism among nations and hoped to adjust more visa policies. He referred to active diplomatic mechanisms between the two countries.
He commented, “Tourism is growing among us, our final figures for Irish tourists were around 44,000. And we definitely expect a more favorable visa policy. Ambassador, please note that Ireland should note that Ireland can note that Indian tourists can look at an increased flow because they really go for many other international destinations. 13,000 and I want to say that there is also some initial conversation.
Jaishankar acknowledged the efforts of the gradual Irish governments to increase the working and living situation. He said, “From a diplomatic point of view, I can confirm that our various mechanisms are active, in major compromises are in place, and overall I think it is a good reason for us to feel good about the relationship, but still be cautious about the possibilities how much we can do together.”
Regarding the development of India, Jaishankar said, “Now, there are two ideas that I think it is important for people to understand about India in Ireland, especially as we consider our future relations, one today India is on a trajectory, where it is, I will say about 7 percent of this, I will say about 7 percent of the plus minus development and it will make a different pattern of demand in a different amount of demand.”
“Obviously, a high quality of life of economic capabilities and it is visible in very different ways in India. I mean whether we are the number of airports we are building, we are building average on an average of 7 airports in a year, we are growing at a distance of about 28 to 30 kilometers a day.
Sharing his personal relationship, he said, “As I was preparing for this journey, it hit me, our history is how complex that India and Ireland are really. On one hand, Ireland was a part of India’s British colonial rule. Come to more Irish in Chennai.”
He emphasized the influence of Ireland on India’s independence movement and mentioned Irish-origin like Annie Besant and like Irish-origin. Sister Nivedita Who contributed to India’s freedom struggle.
Discussing similarities in dicolonization, he said, “It was, the struggle for Ireland was also an inspiration, a very powerful inspiration for India and for our national movement. There was a very strong sense of parallel efforts and it is interesting that any of you know, really interesting that it is interesting that he is speaking before a group called Friends of FreeDam in New York.
“And this is a fact that many of the major figures of that period in India were actually in touch with their Irish counterparts. Most prominent, of course, the relationship was that the introduction between our national poet Rabindranath Tagore and his Nobel Prize winning work was actually written by WB Yats. Now it is a historical point. It is now a historical point.
He emphasized the commitment of both nations for international law and cooperation.
Jaishankar said, “A third aspect is actually internationalness which is inbuilt in our perspective. In India, we speak ‘Vasudhiv Kutumbakam‘That the world is a family, which is very high, a type of one, a tradition, and in many ways, it surrounds the fundamental openness of our society. And of course our experience of freedom struggle has revived a strong solidarity with others in a similar prediction, and this internationality, in fact, leads us to the next step, which is multilateralism, which is a desire to work with other countries in a very structured format, but I also tell that we are international for freedom, our visions and our beliefs about our times to give shapes to our times. One must work with each other to deal with issues. ,
“So, I can claim it with some confidence that we are two countries that believe in the need for the world system in relation to international law, and we value international governance and cooperation. For this reason, it is necessary that such governance are contemporary, they are fair, they are non-discriminatory, and are todas.y I think the nature of the international system is an important topic of interaction between countries like India, “he said.
