Angad admits childhood clashes upset father
Speaking on Maniesh Paul’s podcast, Angad admitted that he was an annoying child at times, which hurt his father. He explained the differences between generations, “Our parents and that generation were different, and we are different kinds of parents. There are two kinds of sentiments, anger and hurt. When a person is angry, they’ll curse and shout, and then the sentiment is gone. But when a person feels hurt, he goes quiet. I have annoyed my father a lot. Leaving cricket was just one of the reasons. I also got my hair cut.”
Angad Bedi explains reason for cutting hair
Bedi revealed that his choice to cut his hair upset his father deeply. He revealed, “The reason why I did it is because during that time, Sikhs were made fun of in the industry. We were pushed aside, and people used to say the wrong things. So that hurt me a lot. Initially I used to give all screen tests wearing a turban, and I even had long hair. Everyone used to say, ‘We don’t want the turban look.’ Look what is happening today. Diljit Dosanjh has taken that look and performed worldwide. Nobody can question that.”He also said he feels unlucky about having to cut his hair. He further explains, “It is my misfortune that I had to take off my turban; that is my bad luck. My father was extremely hurt, and he was sad. That’s why I think hurt is a deeper emotion than anger. He didn’t talk to me for 10-12 years. I cut my hair when I was 22, and he talked to me when I was 34. Sometimes it takes time, but he talked to me and complimented me for ‘Pink’. Told me during the premiere, ‘You’re not that bad, son.’”
