The Naagin 7 actress Priyanka Chahar Choudhary recently addressed persistent rumours over purported plastic surgery. She clarified in a recent interview that the medication she was taking last year, which resulted in both weight loss and facial bloating, was the reason of the changes in her appearance. Choudhary emphasized that choices about one`s looks should be left up to the individual and should not be scrutinized by the public.

The actress responded to rumours about her appearance by pointing to the side effects of high antibiotic dosages. “All these things have been happening for a long time,” she stated in an interview with ETimes. “Most people are unaware that I was on medication for the entire year and received extremely high dosages of antibiotics. I lost weight as a result, yet even though many assumed it was something else, my face was swollen.”
Priyanka shared how people often tend to begin speculating about her appearance even on days when she does small changes in her basic looks. She said, “As for small things, that’s okay. Everyone has the right to enhance their looks, and that is completely my choice. If I apply kajal or wear lenses, people start thinking I’ve done something to my face. Guys, this is my face and it has its own personality. It’s just a little touch-up or makeup. If you break it down as makeup, people still end up saying something, and that’s not right”.
Priyanka reacts to social media`s impact
Choudhary emphasised that small improvements like wearing contact lenses or makeup are occasionally misconstrued as surgical changes. She justified these decisions as ordinary and private, pointing out that the public frequently misunderstands them.
She also talked about how, regardless of the reason, rumors and remarks about her appearance frequently surface anytime there is a change in appearance. Priyanka made the point that she has no influence over public opinion, particularly when it comes to decisions about styling or makeup.
Priyanka addressed how social media and public commentary creates a major impact, “What’s the problem in that? It’s your choice. It’s your face, and it’s completely up to you. Even if someone thinks it’s bad, it’s still your call. So why do people feel the need to comment or worry about it? I agree that we are public figures, but sometimes people become very insensitive, and that shouldn’t happen. I still take it sportingly, but there are many people who can’t handle such comments.”
She agreed that maintaining a certain image is expected of her as a public figure, but she advised people to be more kind and refrain from making needless remarks about how others choose to display themselves.
Choudhary added that while she is not personally impacted by online harassment or rumors about her appearance, she acknowledges that such comments can be harmful to others in comparable circumstances. She emphasized the value of honoring personal limits and preferences, particularly with regard to beauty.
Priyanka Chahar Choudhary is currently preparing for Naagin 7. Alongside Choudhary, Namik Paul and Eisha Singh will appear in the Ektaa Kapoor-produced show. Colors TV will begin airing Naagin 7 on Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. on December 27.
