UIDAI recommends updating Aadhaar Card details once every decade to maintain accuracy.

Aadhaar card free update deadline: The UIDAI has announced that Aadhaar cardholders have the opportunity to update their information without any charges through the myAadhaar portal. This service will remain free until the specified deadline. Those who have changed their residence or moved to a different city must ensure their Aadhaar card records reflect these changes.
The authority recommends updating details once every decade to maintain accuracy. Current information in the database ensures efficient service delivery and precise Aadhaar-based verification.

What is the Aadhaar Card Free Update Deadline?

The free online update service through the myAadhaar portal will continue until December 14, 2024. Following this date, any modifications made at physical Aadhaar centres will require payment of a fee.
For document submission, residents can access the Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal. The portal offers two convenient ways to locate nearby centres: users can either use the ‘Centres Nearby’ option and input their location information, or they can simply enter their PIN code in the designated search field to find Aadhaar centres in their vicinity.
The mAadhaar app currently offers limited update capabilities, according to an ET report. As per UIDAI’s official statement: “The facility to update demographic details such as Name, DoB, mobile number are not available in the mAadhaar app. Only address update via document facility is currently available. However the demographics updates features may be included in future releases.”
Aadhaar Card Update Charges

(1) Biometric update: Update of enrolled biometrics(fingerprint, iris and photo) (i) If done once between the age of 5to7 years: Free
(ii) If done once between the age of 15 to 17 years: Free
(iii)If done otherwise: ₹100
(2) Demographic update: Update of enrolled name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile number or email address, Or any combination of the same (i)If done at the same time as biometric update: Free
(ii)If done separately: ₹50
(3) Document update: Submission of documents as proofs of identity and address, in support of the name, gender, date of birth and address as enrolled (i) Using myAadhaar portal (https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/du) :Free (till 14.12.2024)
(ii) At Aadhaar centre:₹50

To modify your Aadhaar Card details through the online portal, follow these steps:
1. Access myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
2. Select ‘Login’, input your Aadhaar number and captcha code, then request OTP. Once received, enter the OTP and proceed with login.
3. Choose ‘Document Update’
4. Review the provided guidelines and proceed
5. Confirm the accuracy of details by ticking the verification box
6. Submit your identity and address proof documents
Upon completion, you will receive a Service Request Number (SRN) through email for tracking your update request status.
