Aam Aadmi Party’s Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj organized ‘Delhi Behal Jan Samvad’ at Chirag Delhi on Sunday.

Under the “Delhi Behal Jan Samvad” campaign, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi State President Saurabh Bhardwaj, while addressing a large public meeting in Chirag Delhi, made a scathing attack on the BJP government. As part of the ongoing outreach in each mandal across the capital, he said that despite the BJP’s “four engine” government in Delhi, citizens are facing problems. He said that a year after coming to power, the government has failed to fulfill key promises, such as women not having received the promised ₹2500, and bus marshals not being given permanent jobs.

On Sunday, AAP Delhi state chief accused the Rekha Gupta government of committing forgery (fraud) in the name of reducing pollution, making false claims of Yamuna-cleaning and renaming only 370 mohalla clinics as Arogya Mandir. He further said that due to the closure of Mohalla clinics, thousands of youth have become unemployed and now 6,000 bus conductors are being sacked. He announced that the Aam Aadmi Party will hold a massive public meeting at Jantar Mantar on March 1 to raise the voice of crisis-hit Delhi.

During the Delhi Behal Jan Samvad in Chirag Delhi, Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “BJP has always been a party of rich businessmen and big industrialists. They only go to the poor during elections, eat food in slums and play carrom board games. Poor people are gullible and fall for their words. In this Delhi election, BJP betrayed the common and poor people and formed the government in Delhi after 27 years.”

Saurabh Bhardwaj further said, “The facilities that the AAP government had worked hard to create for the villages were snatched away by the BJP. Dispensaries were built in villages and towns so that poor people and elderly citizens could easily get treatment.”

He said that the largest number of rural women used to come for treatment in the Mohalla Clinic located below the water tank in Sheikh Sarai. “Women are often unable to visit doctors due to lack of money and time. The free tests and medicines for diseases like diabetes, thyroid and high blood pressure at the mohalla clinics were very helpful to them,” she said.

He said, “But BJP Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is closing mohalla clinics one by one. The Chief Minister has falsely claimed to have built 370 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. In reality, she has only repainted the dispensaries built during Arvind Kejriwal’s tenure and written Arogya Mandir on them. This is open fraud and fraud.”

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that people living in bungalows may think that Rekha Gupta is doing good work, but villagers know the truth because they see the ground reality. He said, “BJP has not done any work for the villages in one year. Sewer, Chaupal and road works are being done from the budget passed during the AAP government.”

The senior AAP leader said that for the last 8-9 years, the AAP government used to organize Shahpur Jat Mahotsav in Shahpur Jat village for 360 villages of Delhi, where the elders of the village also participated in the fashion show. “But a BJP MLA stopped the festival and shifted it from the village to bungalows in Greater Kailash,” he highlighted.

He said, “BJP believes that festivals are only for the elite, not for villagers. Now no one wants to attend this festival. On Saturday, BJP workers were loading street vendors into buses to take them to the festival. People said that they were being threatened that if they did not board the buses, they would not be allowed to set up their stalls.”

He said that PM Modi had guaranteed the women of Delhi that after winning the elections, Rs 2500 will be deposited in the account of every woman from March. “But none of the women got ₹2,500. No one trusts BJP leaders because everyone knows they lie,” he said.

He further said, “That’s why PM Modi himself campaigned. But after the elections he also disappeared. No one has the courage to ask the Prime Minister a question about Rs 2500. Anyone who asks will have to face raids by ED and CBI and will be arrested.”

On pollution and Yamuna cleaning, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that during Chhath Puja, CM Rekha Gupta gave several interviews and claimed that she had cleaned Yamuna in eight months, which Arvind Kejriwal could not do in ten years and later it was revealed that she had made a fake Yamuna.

He said, “Drinking water supply remained disrupted for several days as pipes were used to fill water into the fake Yamuna to claim to clean the river. Similarly, the BJP government switched off pollution measuring meters and sprinkled water on meters that were running day and night to make the pollution level appear low. The Aam Aadmi Party also exposed this.”

AAP’s Delhi unit chief said the government closed about 250 mohalla clinics and fired pharmacists, nurses, sample collectors, sanitation workers and doctors working there. He questioned, “Data entry operators were removed from government hospitals, leaving thousands unemployed. 6,000 DTC bus conductors have also been dismissed. The CM claims that new buses are being added daily. If new buses are coming, new conductors should be recruited, then why should they be dismissed?”

She further said that the AAP government under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal had appointed around 10,000 bus marshals for the safety of women. “But the LG first removed them and then blackmailed them by promising them that if BJP won, they would be given permanent jobs within 60 days. The bus marshals campaigned for BJP and helped them win, but after the victory, BJP stopped talking to them and did not give them any permanent jobs,” he said.

Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “BJP is organizing grand Hindu conferences but is hiding that they are the organizers. They know that people do not gather in the name of their leaders, so instead of using their photographs to attract the crowd, they put pictures of Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Sant Ravidas on the posters.”

He asked where Chirag was when Ramlila was stopped in Delhi, and said, “BJP exploits Hindus in the name of religion and organizes Ramlila once a year to earn profits throughout the year. When AAP started cheap Ramlila, BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj and LG opposed it.”

He said, “The LG (Lieutenant Governor) got trees planted in the Ramlila grounds overnight and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) built a wall so that Ramlila could not take place. BJP members are not true Hindus, but do business in the name of Hindus and exploit people.”

Saurabh Bhardwaj said that despite a four-engine government in Delhi (Centre, LG, Delhi government and MCD), more than 800 people, including many minor girls, went missing in the first 15 days of January this year. “When this issue is raised, the police threaten to file an FIR. But we are not afraid of the FIR,” he said.

“We have already faced FIRs from ED (Enforcement Directorate), Economic Offenses Wing (EOW), Delhi Police and ACB (Anti Corruption Bureau). Delhi Police wants to suppress this news, which means there is a nexus between the police, the BJP government and the child kidnapping gang. Instead, the police should have printed posters to create awareness.”

Referring to the Epstein case in the United States, he said that there young girls were sent to powerful politicians and industrialists and the name of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also included in those discussions. He urged parents to remain alert and report missing children immediately. “If the police do not file a complaint, inform you,” he said.

He further said that after the formation of BJP government, many private schools like APJ, Indian School and BPS increased the fees by 20% to 80%. “Children of parents unable to pay the increased fees are being harassed, made to sit in libraries and denied admit cards, while the BJP remains silent,” he said.

“In 2020, the AAP government sealed AAPJ schools for arbitrary actions and imposed a fine of ₹490 crore on private hospitals (like Max, PSRI, Escorts) for not providing free treatment to poor patients. After that, the hospitals resumed free treatment, but after BJP came to power, they again stopped providing free treatment to the poor.”

He said that BJP has canceled the ration cards of 8,00,000 poor people in Delhi and stopped the pension of 25,000 widows and thousands of elderly people because BJP hates the poor. “They are demolishing the slums and houses of the poor while dancing with the rich,” he asserted.

The AAP Delhi state president said that in the last 10 years, whenever the MCD attempted to demolish houses built by poor people, the Aam Aadmi Party stood firmly and stopped the demolition. Just before the elections, when MCD officials arrived with JCB machines to demolish houses in Shahpur Jat, he personally intervened and stopped them. He further said, “BJP never gathers for legitimate causes or when poor people are harmed, but when it comes to illegal buildings of builders in Greater Kailash, they create a scene.”

Saurabh Bhardwaj questioned whether Greater Kailash has run out of space and they are turning villages into centers of exploitation. “Their intention is to get away by selling flats to poor people in unsafe, leaning buildings; if the building collapses later, so be it,” he said.

Saurabh Bhardwaj concluded that the BJP is squeezing the poor everywhere, and said, “BJP has come to power to do such things. They are squeezing the poor everywhere, cutting pensions, canceling ration cards, closing mohalla clinics and increasing school fees. Their looting continues everywhere.”
