In the concluded three-match ODI series against Australia, witness the fireworks from Team India`s traditional opening batsman, Rohit Sharma.
Before the series, the right-hander was at the centre of criticism for his weight and body shape. Just before the series kicked started, Rohit took everybody by surprise by appearing in a much fitter and slimmer look.
The man who worked in the process at the back stage was none other than Abhishek Nayar. Earlier, the former cricketer revealed on Star Sports about the process through which India`s `Hitman` had gone through.
Speaking on the Star Sports, Nayar said, “I think, initially, we sort of realised that there were 12 weeks before this Australia series. So the thought process was to do something different. Since we had time on our hands, it was not about maintaining but about growth. Growth in regards to physical structure and his movement. How he viewed himself, how we looked in front of the mirror and also being in a place where he felt fitter and move faster and swift on the field and even with the bat”.
Earlier, the 38-year-old was criticised after a picture of him went viral across all social media platforms, in which Rohit appeared to have put on some weight.
“The 12 weeks were more about making a difference. People talking about him putting a weight and a few images of him coming out of the airport. Changing all of that in a lot of ways to be healthier, faster and fitter, and that`s where the journey started,” he added.

Further speaking more on Rohit`s transformation, the 42-year-old former cricketer said that Rohit also worked on his food and habits, and has also made a lot of sacrifices that have made him into this “Mean Machine”.
Rohit`s best performance in the series came during the third ODI, when he slammed an unbeaten knock of 121 runs off 125 deliveries. His knock also included 13 boundaries and three maximums.
Following his performance, he also received the “Player of the Match” award. He was also named the “Player of the Series”, considering his previous outings in the three-match ODI contest.
