According to reports in The Times of India, Ankita Lokhande and her husband, businessman Vicky Jain, have landed in trouble after the Chhattisgarh State GST department conducted extensive search operations linked to coal firms associated with his business family in Bilaspur. The multi-location raids reportedly led to a total tax surrender of Rs. 27.5 crore from three major coal trading groups, officials said, as reported in the media.
The action was initiated on the directions of State GST Secretary Mukesh Bansal. Enforcement teams from Raipur conducted simultaneous searches at 11 locations connected to Mahavir Coal Washery, Feel Coal, and Paras Coal & Beneficiation. The operations began on the morning of December 12 and continued till late night. They covered offices, residential premises, washeries, and industrial plants.
During the course of the search, which was reportedly linked to the family of Ankita and Vicky, the family surrendered around Rs. 10 crore. The next day, they deposited Rs. 11 crore, and another washery surrendered Rs. 6.5 crore, taking the total amount to Rs. 27.5 crore.
