Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was rushed to the hospital last month after he suffered a brain haemorrhage. While no surgery was performed, he was put on a ventilator to stabilize his condition. Amid his health concerns, the Khan family restricted doctors from sharing information about his health. Now, his son Arbaaz Khan has confirmed he will be discharged soon.

Arbaaz Khan on Salim Khan’s health

Arbaaz Khan addressed the media while leaving an iftar gathering in the city. He said the veteran writer is showing positive signs of recovery. “He’s better now, he’s improving,” Arbaaz told reporters. When asked about when Salim Khan might be discharged from the hospital, he added, “Soon.” The comments mark the first official statement from the Khan family since Salim Khan was hospitalised.

“His blood pressure was high, for which we treated him, and we had to put him on a ventilator because we wanted to do certain investigations. Now, the ventilator was put as a safeguard so that his situation doesn`t get worse. So it is not that he is critical,” Dr Jalil Parkar told reporters.

“We did the investigations that were required, and today we have done a small procedure on him. I will not go into the details. The procedure done is called DSA (digital subtraction angiography). The procedure has been accomplished, he is fine and stable, and has been shifted back to the ICU.” Asked whether he suffered a brain haemorrhage, the doctor said, “Unko thoda haemorrhage hua tha, which we`ve tackled. No surgery is required.”
