Dining with the Kapoors, which will give a glimpse into the world of Bollywood’s most iconic family, is all set to stream on Netflix from November 21. The show, which marks 100 years of the legendary Raj Kapoor, is created by Armaan Jain and directed and written by Smriti Mundhra. While the trailer gave us a glimpse into the fun-filled outing of the Kapoor family, fans noticed Alia Bhatt`s absence and were curious to know the real reason behind it. Ranbir`s brother, Armaan, has now revealed the reason.

Armaan Jain on Alia Bhatt`s absence

Armaan Jain and Smriti Mundhra recently had a chat with Bollywood Hungama and were quizzed about Alia’s absence from the show. Armaan said, “She had prior commitments to shoot. I might sound filmy, but like Raj Kapoor said, ‘work is worship.’” Smriti added, “That is the one thing about this family. They are all workaholics, and they all love what they do.”

She continued, “There is always an understanding that everyone makes an attempt to gather and prioritizes as much as possible, but inevitably there’s one or two people who can’t make it because of work—and that’s always allowed.” Armaan added, “Every function it happens – literally Christmas get-togethers, Diwali get-togethers. It happens.”

The show features Randhir Kapoor and his daughters Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor; Reema Jain and her sons Adar Jain and Armaan Jain; and Neetu Kapoor and her kids Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Ranbir Kapoor. It also stars Kunal Kapoor, Zahan Kapoor, Nitasha Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda, Agastya Nanda, Neila Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Anissa Jain, and Bharat Sahni.

About Dining With the Kapoors trailer

The trailer opens with glimpses of Ranbir Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and others arriving for the “grand lunch.” As “India`s first family of Indian cinema” says, “It`s Raj Kapoor`s 100th birthday. He loved his birthdays. Those grand Bollywood parties that everybody spoke about, but it was just different.”

“Funny, loving, united. They`re very fond of eating. They love to laugh, too,” Kareena says in the trailer. It further takes viewers inside the chaotic, fun side of the family as they come together. The show is all set to rlease on November 21.
