Asha Bhosle death: Karan Johar postpones Chand Mera Dil song launch

Asha Bhosle`s sudden demise has set the country mourning. Meanwhile, Karan Johar`s Dharma Productions, which was all set to launch the title track of its upcoming film Chand Mera Dil, has postponed the release of the song in the wake of the legendary singer`s passing.

Chand Mera Dil song launch postponed

The title track, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya Lalwani, was initially scheduled to release on April 13. However, it will now arrive a day later. The production house confirmed the decision to postpone the song launch through an official statement on social media. On Sunday, the makers revealed that as a tribute to the late singer, they have made the decision. The statement read, “In honour of a legacy that has shaped generations, and with deep respect for the passing of the legendary Asha Bhosle, we are pushing the release of the Chand Mera Dil title track by a day.”

The statement further added, “This decision has been made as a mark of heartfelt respect and remembrance for Asha Bhosle, whose lasting impact on music continues to inspire generations.”

The makers also announced that the song will now be released a day later, on April 14.

Karan Johar pays tribute to Asha Bhosle

Meanwhile, filmmaker Karan Johar also paid tribute to Asha Bhosle earlier on Sunday after learning about her demise with an emotional note on social media. He wrote, “To say we have lost a legend today would be an understatement. Asha ji was unlike any other, a voice that defined not only one generation but across a span of cinematic universe! I was and have been a massive fan of her voice, her art, her personality…Asha ji, your music will live on forever, and we are blessed to experience the magic you have left behind forever! Rest in peace and power.”

Asha Bhosle died in Mumbai at the age of 92. The doctors at Breach Candy Hospital stated that the singer passed away due to multiple-organ failure. Her death has led to widespread tributes from across the film and music fraternity, with many remembering her as one of the most influential voices in Indian music history.
