Bhushan Kumar confirms Border 3 amid Border 2 success

T-Series` Bhushan Kumar is currently basking in the success of the latest film under his banner, Border 2. His recent production has already earned Rs 167 crore gross worldwide within just the first three days. Notably, the film marks the first collaboration between Bhushan Kumar and director Anurag Singh. Amid the staggering success of Border 2, the two are already planning of more collaborations in the future. In fact, the two are already planning a third Border film.

Bhushan Kumar confirms Border 2

In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Anurag Singh and Bhushan Kumar revealed they were initially collaborating on a different film before Border 2 happened. Now that Border 2 has released, they will get the project back on track. Bhushan added that the Border franchise is not the first thing he and Anurag will work on. “But before that, we will continue what we were discussing even before Border 2 came into the picture. Now is the time for that. The next film will be on those lines. Then, we will return to Border,” he said.

Confirming Border 3, he shared, “We are doing a joint venture with his company and my company. He’ll be directing, and it will be something new. Border 3 will happen in due course.”

He further reiterated, “Obviously, it is such a big franchise,” before adding “Anurag has worked so hard to rebuild it. If you bring something back after almost 30 years and it is getting so much love, we will definitely take it forward.”

About Border 2

Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh. It marks a spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 hit Border. The film features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. It also stars Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh and Medha Rana in pivotal roles.

Border 2 released in theatres on January 23, 206, coinciding with the Republic Day weekend. So far, it has been doing very well at the box office. After a strong opening of Rs 32.1 crore at the domestic box office, the film has registered a massive number of Rs 57.2 crore on Sunday in India. With this, the film has collected Rs 129 crore in its first weekend.
