Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri were slammed on Bigg Boss 19 after a live feed caught them body-shaming fellow contestant Ashnoor Kaur. Tanya commented that despite her continuous gym practice, Ashnoor had still gained weight. Neelam also expressed concern about Ashnoor`s weight gain, saying that her daily workouts appeared ineffectual.
The argument heated up when they criticised Ashnoor`s clothing from the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, claiming it didn`t suit her body type. Tanya even suggested that if she or Neelam had worn the outfit, it would have looked better.

Tanya referred to her as “Fugge jaisa mooh lekar ghoom rahi hai (her face is like a balloon),” whilst Amaal described her as “an egg.” Neelam was heard remarking, “Dadi lag rahi hai (she is looking like a grandmother)”. Shehbaaz was seen remarking, “Itni exercise lagati hai, moti hi rehti hai (she exercises, but still looks fat)”
This conversation has prompted uproar among followers on social media, with many accusing Tanya and Neelam of crossing the line by body-shaming Ashnoor, who is only 21 years old.

Viewers also targeted so-called influencers in the house. One follower replied, “So-called spiritual influencers and feminists,” while another added, “Kunika ji says I am a feminist, what is this? Other females usually shame Ashnoor. I`ve still never seen somebody take a stand. Salman bhai should discuss this. For three days, they have been discussing her physique.”
Fans praised Ashnoor`s maturity in comparison to others, adding, “She is the most mature girl I have seen in BB history, or y 65 saal jo ki industry m rhe chuki h isko itni akal nahi h, or amaal seriously yarr? “Shebhaz, fitness ka bol raha h?”
Many people criticised the show`s handling of the situation. “Body shaming does not constitute content. It`s a major issue. Makers should take action against them. However, the producers supported this topic and did not include these clips in the episode. Shame on the makers.”
