Bodo/Glimt stunned last season’s runners-up Inter Milan 2-1 in the second leg of the Playoffs to reach the Champions League last 16 with a 5-2 aggregate triumph.
Jens Petter Hauge (58th) gave his team the lead after Ole Blomberg’s initial shot was saved. Hakon Evjen (72nd) made it 2-0. Inter scored a consolation via Alessandro Bastoni (76th).
“I’m almost lost for words. It was an extremely tough match, but we stood together. We ran for each other and fought for every ball. Even though we didn’t have much possession, we were incredibly efficient [in attack],” said Hauge.
Inter boss Cristian Chivu was gracious in defeat. “In the second-half, they had more energy and scored. We are disappointed, [but] congratulations to them, they deserved to progress,” said Chivu.
