CID 2 to go off-air soon; Shivaji Satam reveals whether season 3 is on cards

Fans were devastated when word spread online that CID 2 will be taken off the air. Many assumed that the makers` decision to cancel the second season was due to dropping TRPs, but this was regarded just speculation until today. However, CID`s renowned face, Shivaji Satam aka ACP Pradyuman, has now publicly stated that the makers are ending CID 2, which returned to television screens after a six-year hiatus.

Shivaji Satam confirms the show is going off-air

According to GossipsTv, actor Shivaji Satam has revealed that CID 2 is going off broadcast. Despite the poor ratings, Shivaji stated that the current season`s rhythm remained “unchanged” among the show`s devoted viewers. He also discussed how the show`s transition from TV screens to Netflix affected the numbers. When discussing the shifting scene, he stated, “The landscape has transformed, and now even a rating of 2 is considered a success.”

Despite the declining TRP, the actor believes that `crowd appreciation` is the actual prize, not the TRP number.

According to the publication, Shivaji, the principal actor, has stated his desire to return as ACP Pradyuman in CID 3. However, the final decision is up to the manufacturers.

Will season 3 happen?

According to reports, CID 2 is expected to take off the air next month. In addition, CID 3 is set to debut a few months after the current season ends.

Many people requested that CID 3 be released on the OTT platform. A person wrote, “CID2 is an iconic and finest crime thriller show. It is always top trending on OTT, and its online viewership and popularity is very high. So it`s better if they move their show to OTT. I believe this show will perform better on OTT (sic).” Another added, “If CID2 returns with Season 3, OTT will be the best option for this show because it is always top trending on OTT and has a large online viewership and popularity. Sony TV Channel has died. No excellent shows work on this channel (sic).

Earlier, the cast had shared some intriguing moments about their bond. In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Ansha Sayed had also revealed how they have been a big family instead of co-stars for years.
