Coldplay 'Infinity Tickets' sold out; fans tweet 'system is rigged' as tickets to Mumbai and Ahmedabad concerts sell instantly

“When you try your best, but you don’t succeed,” said fans as they lost out on yet another chance to get a ticket to the upcoming Coldplay ‘Music of the Spheres’ concert in January 2025.
On Friday, it was announced that the much-anticipated ‘Infinity Tickets‘ for the band’s Mumbai and Ahmedabad concerts would go on sale at 12 noon. However, even those who queued up well in time for the shot at getting their golden ticket, were left disappointed. The highly coveted special low-cost tickets, priced at just Rs 2,000, were snapped up almost instantly upon release, leaving countless waiting in their virtual queue for over 30 mins before they gave up.

The overwhelming demand sparked an outcry on social media, with many fans expressing frustration over the ticketing system. One user even tagged the Mumbai Police and alleged a ‘ticket scam’ at play. The fan tweeted, “Now tickets r sold out! Please confirm how many tickets were issued since my queue # only moved by 80. @MumbaiPolice Shd do an impartial investigation.”

Disappointed fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations, alleging that the system was unfair or “rigged.”Many fans pointed fingers at bots or resellers, claiming they had no chance to secure tickets despite being online well before the sale started. A fan complained, “Coldplay infinity tickets sold out in seconds, 98% probably headed straight to resell. Let’s stop feeding these greedy resellers! If we all refuse to buy, they’ll have no choice but to sell at face value closer to the concert. Let’s make them sweat!”
Still another said, “yet another @bookmyshow let down how is the queue for infinity tickets for coldplay going up to 97k when tickets are so few in number? also, no movement in the queue number since 30 mins.”
Another asked, “how it already sold out when the queue was literally stuck at the same number for an whole hour????? did anyone even end up getting the infinity tickets pls lmk”
“Started at 272 . Now at 90 for Ahmedabad show….number ain’t moving since last half an hour….” read another post.

Fans were required to purchase the Infinity Tickets in pairs, with seating locations assigned randomly. The affordable pricing, coupled with Coldplay’s massive fanbase in India, meant the tickets were sold out in moments.

Coldplay’s upcoming concerts in India have generated massive excitement. The band will perform in 3 shows in Mumbai and follow it up with 2 shows in Ahmedabad, marking their first visit to the country since their iconic Global Citizen Festival performance in 2016.
The Music of the Spheres World Tour has been a global phenomenon, with fans flocking to stadiums across Europe and the United States to see Chris Martin and the band perform their hits.
