The flip side of this is a pair of batting units that have not performed well enough. In both teams, several players will be looking for form – only Sameer Rizvi has exploded on debut in this IPL, who has been a real find so far, but both his innings have been recovery efforts after DC lost early wickets while chasing small targets. This is not a sustainable gameplan for the Capitals, and while Pathum Nissanka had a good start vs MI, it is star-man KL Rahul who is expected to be the most. When will he come to the party? And are there any changes to be made at number three by the high-intent Abhishek Porel with some powerplay emphasis ahead of Nitish Rana?
For GT, it’s a contrasting issue: Sai Sudarshan quietly got runs under his belt, as he always does, and the return of Shubman Gill gives them a big boost at the top of the order. Sudarshan had scored a century against GT in Delhi last year, while Gill was just a few runs short of his century in the 10-wicket win. But the middle part of GT’s batting in the lower order is a matter of great concern. The balance doesn’t sit quite right, and this is a weakness for teams looking to score targets: it would be a matter of concern if Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada look more capable of chasing vs RR than Shah Rukh Khan and Rahul Tewatia.

DC vs GT Live Score: Weather Forecast in New Delhi – Light rain expected
DC vs GT Live Score: Monday’s match in Kolkata abandoned after 4 overs, and tomorrow’s match in Guwahati reduced to 11-a-side. Unseasonal rains are affecting North India and yesterday there was heavy rain in Delhi also.
But the good news is that light rain is expected in the few hours before the match starts, but the evening is expected to be clear and will be good. Hopefully, there will be a full 40 overs game tonight at Kotla.

DC vs GT Live Score: In 2025, GT chased down scores of 200-plus twice against Delhi – first at home thanks to the best performance from Jos Buttler, but later more emphatically at the same venue in New Delhi. After setting the target of 200 runs after KL Rahul’s century, GT’s openers did not sweat at all. Sai Sudarshan cut and clawed his way to his own century, looking unstoppable, and Shubman Gill quietly scored his 93*. In a year when their partnership was so impressive, this was great work.

DC vs GT Live Score: Gujarat Titans have held their own against two of the better teams in the league, but failed both times: They were off pace against Punjab Kings, but bounced back thanks to a sensational Prasidh Krishna spell, chasing the target against Rajasthan despite losing wickets in the last few balls. On both the occasions, they know that an incident here or there could have given them the victory, but they could not achieve the victory. A good team, they are due for a result – and will be keen to do the double against them in 2025.
