After months of cyberbullying, choreographer-actor Dhanashree Verma is now writing her own success narrative by winning the hearts of the public with her impactful presence on Ashneer Grover`s reality show Rise and Fall. Since the show`s premiere last week, everyone has been waiting to see if Dhanashree will disclose any more details about her high-profile divorce from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. Although she has been careful with her movements, she does not appear to be passing up opportunities to poke fun at the entire life event and even herself, thereby capturing the audience`s attention.
Dhanashree`s `gold digger` comment in Rise and Fall
She recently made an indirect comment about the “gold digger” nickname that social media trolls have given her. In a new promotional video published by the show`s producers for an upcoming episode, the competitors were partnered and asked to select between a gold bag holding Rs 2 lakh and a silver bag carrying Rs 1 lakh. Interestingly, Dhanashree was matched with actor Arjun Bijlani, and the two made the most of their moment together.
“Dekho, mujhe diamond and silver thoda suit nahi karta.” I don`t look well in diamonds or silver. “Gold suits me,” Arjun informed her. Dhanashree seized the chance and responded with a funny remark, mocking the constant harassment she has gotten in recent months. “Yeh line, main bol nahi sakti.” Agar maine yeh line bol di, jo mujhe pyaar milne wala hoga, who bhi nahi milega. If I speak this sentence, I won`t even get the affection that I would have had otherwise),” she said to Arjun, chuckling.
Although his supporters have been bashing her online since the couple`s divorce in March of this year, Dhanashree Verma recently revealed that she is still in touch with her ex-husband Yuzvendra Chahal. “Both have graciously accepted everything and moved on, and we now wish each other well. I also communicate with Yuzi via message. He used to call me maa, and he is only kind,” she told Farah Khan on her video blog.

However, Dhanashree responded last month to Yuzvendra`s prior remark on Raj Shamani`s podcast about faking their relationship near the end. She got candid with Humans of Bombay, “There is a reason why we say personal life. It has to be private. A coin has two sides. You cannot clap with a single hand. Just because I am not speaking, doesn’t give anybody the power to take advantage of that. It`s not correct, and I don’t think it should happen with anybody. It’s done and dusted, please move on. I do have lots to talk about it, I have my side of the story to it, but do I want to dwell into that? No. Right now, I am working on fixing myself.”
