After the Mumbai Indians (MI) beat the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday at one of the IPL 2026 matches, the locker room talk had a touch of Dhurandhar. In a video posted on the MI, Nita Ambani can be seen smiling as Suryakumar Yadav pulls Jasprit Bumrah’s leg with a famous dialogue from the film.
Dhurandhar fever hits IPL 2026
In the video posted by MI, Nita praises ‘Boom boom Bumrah’ for being the best bowler of the night. As his teammates cheer for him and Nita pins a badge on him, SKY says, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi? (Didn’t you miss home, Jassi?)” Everybody in the locker room could be heard cheering and laughing as Bumrah and Nita cracked a smile.
This comes after another promotional material, in which Bumrah recreated Ranveer Singh’s scene from Dhurandhar: The Revenge. In the video, the cricketer is seen washing his face as another teammate asks him the same question, and he smiles. The promo recreates the now-famous interval block from Dhurandhar 2.
Jasprit Bumrah’s wife started it all
This joke around Bumrah not remembering home all began in March, when his wife, sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan, took to social media to put a hilarious spin on their marriage. She posted a meme from Dhurandhar 2, which sees Udaybir Sandhu, who plays Pinda in the film, wearing a wig.
The caption on the meme reads, “Every time Jasprit thinks about planning a boys’ night,” followed by Pinda saying the dialogue, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi tujhe, Jassi?” Sanjana added laughter emojis while sharing the meme about how her husband sneaks out for a boys’ night instead of staying home. The joke has since caught on, with others asking Bumrah the same.
