Dhurandhar 2: How a doctor who treated Arjun Rampal on sets was cast in the film

As Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues to dominate the box office and the cinema buzz, fans have been on their toes observing the slightest details in the film and drawing parallels in the real world. A similar observation has given a Ludhiana-based doctor his tiny bit of Bollywood fame after his casting details became known. The doctor has reportedly been called on sets of Dhurandhar 2 to treat Arjun Rampal`s head injury and ended up bagging a role in the film.

Ludiana doctor shares details on Arjun Rampal`s injury

Dr Sunny Ashok, posted at the government health facility in Kalakh village, was called to the Dhurandhar set after Arjun Rampal sustained a head injury on July 8, 2025. For the unversed, Dhurandhar 2 was extensively shot in different parts of Punjab, such as a railway track near Ludhiana and Shahnewal Airport. Arjun, who plays an ISI agent Major Iqbal in the film, injured his head during a chase sequence being filmed at the railway track.

In a conversation with  The Tribune, Dr Ashok recalls, “There was panic as it seemed Arjun would need scans and hospitalisation. However, the injury was not serious. I checked his reflexes. All were happy that he was okay.”

Three days later, the shooting team called Dr Ashok back on the night of July 11, when a schedule was underway at Shahnewal Airport. The medical professional simply wanted a photo with Ranveer Singh. “I asked Ranveer for a photo, at which he put his arm around my shoulder and said, `Brother, why just a photo? We will take you in the movie,` I thought he was joking.” Dr Ashok recalled.

Aditya Dhar instantly agreed to the Dhurandhar star`s idea and explained the scene to the doctor on the spot. It involved the climax scene where Ranveer Singh is required to receive medical attention. “That`s my scene in the movie, though it is a split second,” the doctor said.

He further recalls how the shot was done in a single take. “Dhar congratulated me for acting natural, saying I never looked into the camera and behaved exactly as a doctor would when seeing an injured Indian hero de-boarding a plane,” Dr Ashok revealed before adding, “All the film crew—and especially Ranveer and Arjun Rampal—were very down-to-earth and friendly.”
