The UAE Defense Ministry said the Crown Prince of Dubai, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Defense Minister held a phone conversation with Kuwait’s Defense Ministry to discuss regional developments. Both sides exchanged views on current developments and reaffirmed the importance of continued coordination.

Amazon reports AWS connectivity issues
Amazon cloud unit data centers in Bahrain and the UAE were experiencing power and connectivity problems on Monday, the company said, as Iranian retaliatory attacks hit airports, ports and residential areas across the wider Gulf.
Two zones of Amazon’s cloud units in the UAE, which are clusters of data centres, were without power on Monday, the company said on its status page. AWS said on Sunday that an area data center in the UAE was affected after “objects” struck it and caused sparks and fires, prompting a power shutdown.
UAE Foreign Ministry condemns Iran attacks
The UAE Foreign Ministry summoned Iran’s ambassador to the UAE, Reza Ameri, and handed him a strongly worded note of protest, in which he condemned Iranian attacks on Emirati territory and “terrorist attacks”.
The ministry said in its statement that targeting the UAE is a gross violation of its sovereignty and national security and a clear violation of international charters, resolutions and norms. It described the attacks as a “dangerous and irresponsible escalation” that disregards the country’s sovereignty.
Trading on the UAE’s two main exchanges, the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) and the Dubai Financial Market (DFM), has been suspended until Tuesday, March 3. Meanwhile, local media reported that three people have been killed in the UAE amid the Iranian attacks.

Dubai, the UAE’s main economic hub, came under attack after Iran responded to joint attacks by the US and Israel targeting US facilities in the region, and explosions and drone interceptions were reported across Dubai on Saturday. AFP quoted the defense ministry as saying Iran fired 137 missiles and 209 drones at targets across the UAE.
Dubai International Airport, one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, suffered partial damage to one of its main terminal buildings due to a suspected airstrike. Confirming the incident, airport officials said a crowd at Dubai International “suffered minor damage in an incident which was quickly brought under control”. Four employees also suffered injuries in the incident.

Her husband, TMC MLA Raj Chakraborty, told the media that both were “in the hotel and safe.” “We are extremely concerned, although citizens in Dubai are considered safe. Let’s see when flight operations resume,” he said.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday said around 100 Kannada people are currently stranded in the United Arab Emirates (Dubai) and nine in Bahrain due to airspace disruption and flight cancellations. He also said that the government is monitoring the situation.
Ananya Dutta, a resident of Kuwait, told HT that she along with her husband saw a drone falling at the local airport. The wife and two daughters of Kolkata Mayor and Cabinet Minister Firhad Hakim were on pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.
