Actor Dipika Kakar has been open about battling a health setback months after her liver cancer treatment. She and her husband, and actor Shoaib Ibrahim, share details about their daily life and more on their YouTube channels. In the new video shared on Dipika’s channel, she opened up about her health and admitted to being worried, while also admitting how powerfully women continue to handle everything despite so many changes in their bodies.
What Dipika shared
Dipika shared that she has been shooting many clips over the last few days, but she was not able to complete the vlog. She added, “As such koi reason nahi he, matlab main agar honestly aapko bolu toh mere jo ye reoccurence hua hain… woh chota cyst jo 1.3 cm ka aya hain, uske baad main thodi hil gayi hoon. It has shook me, main thoda sa ghabra gayi hoon ki aisa kyu hua (There is no such reason but honestly it is the fact that this reoccurence, and the removal of the cyst has shaken me. I was concerned about what is in store for me next).”
She went on to add during the last few days she has been thinking about these matters and she has understood how complex the female bodies are. She said that we ladies are way stronger than what we are. Dipika said that women handle their bodies, their monthly cycles, their hormonal issues, mood swings, and irrespective of any illness, and yet, we are able to functions so smoothly in our lives. Dipika said that she salutes the spirit of women and how strong they are.
Dipika also added that on days when she is fatigued she goes to sleep, and admitted how her health has changed so many things in her lifestyle. She said, “We have to be strong and positive. Woh rakhna aur uski saath apni daily life mein jeena, ye saari discussions about aagey ki line ki treatment kya hogi (To keep that positivity and continue with our life, we have also been thinking about the treatment)… toh it is just too overwhelming at times. I don’t know if I am making any sense but I wanted to share that.”
Dipika’s battle with cancer
Dipika has been battling stage 2 liver cancer for the past few months. In June 2025, the Sasural Simar Ka actor underwent tumour-removal surgery as part of her ongoing treatment.
Since then, Dipika has been using her YouTube channel to document her health journey, sharing her experiences with chemotherapy, her emotional highs and lows, and her gradual steps toward recovery. Both she and Shoaib regularly post updates on their respective vlogs, keeping fans closely connected and informed.
Dipika is best known for her role as Simar Bhardwaj in the hit TV show Sasural Simar Ka. She also won Bigg Boss Season 12.
