England adds THIS player to squad ahead of crucial Oval showdown

Ahead of the fifth Test match against Team India, England has added Jamie Overton to their squad. His addition was the only change they made for the series-deciding clash, according to the ICC.

Before this, Overton had played in just one Test match. He has scored 97 runs and has managed to claim two wickets.

So far, the `Three Lions` are leading the five-match Test series by 2-1 against India. The fourth Test match ended in a draw, as Washington Sundar and Ravindra Jadeja slammed unbeaten centuries on Day 5.

The final Test match will be worth watching as the hosts will bring their `A-game` to seal the series, whereas the Shubman Gill-led young pack will look to register their second win in the series, which in return will help them draw the five-match contest.

Additionally, it will be interesting to see if their lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah lines up for the all-important match. Earlier, the pacer was advised not to feature in consecutive Test matches, considering his workload management.

Additionally, head coach Gautam Gambhir said that so far, the fast bowlers are are not suffering from any injuries in the camp.

“All the fast bowlers are there. There is no injury scare,” Gambhir said.

He also said that the decision on Jasprit Bumrah`s feature for the final Test match is yet to be finalised.

“We haven`t had any conversation around the combination for the last Test. No decision has been made on whether Jasprit Bumrah will play or not. Ultimately, whoever plays, they will try and do the job for the country,” he said.

If Team India`s think tank provides rest to Bumrah, in his place, Prasidh Krishna or Akash Deep would be picked for the final clash.

Also, Rishabh Pant, who injured himself while attempting to play a shot in Chris Woakes` over, has been ruled out of the final match. The management has named N Jagadeesan as his replacement.

In the fifth match, Dhruv Jurel would likely don the `Big Gloves` in Pant`s absence.

The Oval is all set to host the fifth Test match between Team India and England, which will kick start from July 31.
