England vs West Indies HIGHLIGHTS T20 World Cup 2026: WI get back-to-back wins; beat ENG by 30 runs | T20 World Cup 2026

In Match 18 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, West Indies emerged victorious over England by 30 runs, securing their second consecutive win of the tournament in a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium.

West Indies, batting first, posted a competitive total of 196/6, largely thanks to Sherfane Rutherford’s explosive 76* off 54 balls. His innings was the backbone of their total, and he received crucial support from Jason Holder (22 off 12 balls), who provided a late surge with two sixes in the 16th over. Despite a few late wickets, including Rovman Powell (14) and Holder himself, West Indies managed to finish strongly.

England’s bowling attack, led by Adil Rashid, kept them in the game, with Rashid taking 2 wickets for 16 runs, including the key dismissals of Roston Chase and Powell. However, Sam Curran (36) and Liam Dawson (27) struggled to contain the flow of runs, with Jofra Archer chipping in with a wicket early on.

In their chase, England started aggressively with Philip Salt, who hit 30 runs before being dismissed. However, England’s middle order crumbled under pressure from West Indies’ spinners, especially Gudakesh Motie, who took 3 wickets for 33 runs. With the departure of key players like Will Jacks, Harry Brook, and Jos Buttler, England’s chase faltered.

Despite a valiant effort from Sam Curran, who made 37 runs off 25 balls, England could only reach 160/8 in their 20 overs. West Indies held their nerve, and a disciplined performance with the ball saw them seal a 30-run victory. With this win, West Indies continue to top their group in the ongoing tournament.
