Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has urged his team to recreate their performance from the mid-week UEFA Champions League fixture against Bayern Munich, which they won 3-1, against a Chelsea side that Arteta believes is a genuine title rival, when the two teams face off in the English Premier League (EPL) on Sunday.
“They fully deserve to be there [as title contenders]. The squad they have assembled, the numbers that they have, the amount of quality, the manager and the coaching staff that they have, it makes sense that what is happening there is very, very positive,” said Arteta.

While Arsenal have a six-point cushion at the top of the league, with 29 points in 12 games, Arteta knows how quickly things can change, and hence wants his side to keep their foot on the accelerator and build on the momentum from their European triumph, where the likes of Declan Rice, Noni Madueke, and Gabriel Martinelli shone brightly. “We made a statement against Bayern, and now we have to go and do the same against Chelsea. We are super motivated for it,” said the Spaniard.
