Evin Lewis delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 94 runs as West Indies secured a convincing eight-wicket victory over England in a rain-affected one-day international match in Antigua on Thursday.
Lewis continued his exceptional form from the tour of Sri Lanka against a restructured England team in the opening match of the three-game series.
West Indies had reached 81 without loss in 15 overs, after restricting England to 209 runs, when rain interrupted play at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound.

With a revised target of 157 runs from 35 overs, the 32-year-old Lewis dominated the English bowlers in his entertaining 69-ball knock, which included 5 fours and 8 towering sixes, while leading a 118-run partnership with Brandon King, who contributed 30 runs.
Lewis’s pursuit of his sixth ODI hundred ended when Jacob Bethell caught him off Adil Rashid’s bowling, with the team requiring only 13 runs for victory.
The West Indies completed the chase comfortably with 55 balls remaining, as Keacy Carty (19) and captain Shai Hope (six) guided their team to victory.

England leg-spinner Rashid conceded 50 runs and claimed one wicket in his seven-over spell.
Batting first, a revamped England included four ODI debutants – Jordan Cox, Dan Mousley, Jamie Overton and John Turner – and were dismissed for 209 runs before completing their 50 overs.
Stand-in captain Liam Livingstone scored a notable 48 runs from 49 deliveries. Sam Curran provided support to Livingstone, scoring 37 runs from 56 balls.

The West Indies bowling attack was led by Gudakesh Motie, who claimed 4 for 41, while fast bowler Jayden Seales took 2 for 22 in eight overs.
The teams will meet again at the same venue on Saturday for the second match of the series.
