In an exclusive chat with mid day, social media star Faisal Shaikh, popularly known as Faisu, opened up about stepping into the high pressure reality show The 50, his mindset going in, and why this journey is deeply personal for him.
Faisu talks about the stunts and former experience
Talking about the format of the show, Faisu made it clear that this is not about flashy stunts. “I’m well versed, but this is not going to be a powerful, dynamic stunt. These are going to be small activities and tasks in the arena. There are going to be a lot of mind games here,” he said, adding that the challenge will be mental as much as physical. Despite the uncertainty, he maintained a calm optimism. “I’m well prepared. I haven’t prepared myself for anything yet. I’m positive. I’ll try to do well. If it goes well, it will go well. If it doesn’t go well, I’ll try to do well. That is for sure.”
With 50 contestants living under one roof, Faisu admitted to mixed emotions. “I’m very excited because all the people are going to stay in the same house and everyone has to see each other’s faces,” he said, while also confessing, “I’m a little nervous that two people will get eliminated in one show. I don’t want to get eliminated soon. Like every show, I’m going to stay till the end and win.”
On participating in The 50
What makes The 50 especially intense is the constant surveillance. “We have 100 cameras with us. We’re going to shoot for 12 hours, and we’ll shoot for 12 more hours when we sit and rest or sleep. This is the first time I’m doing something like this,” he shared. “You will see a new Faisu here for 24 hours. The Faisu you didn’t see off cam, you will see it here.”
Asked about friendships and rivalries, Faisu kept an open mind. “All the contestants are my friends. I don’t know the contestants, so they are my friends. But it depends on the game. There is rivalry in every game. Maybe I’ll make a good bond with someone, maybe a new friendship, or maybe I’ll have a fight with someone.”
Above all, Faisu revealed his biggest motivation, his fans. “This time my fans will benefit from my victory. I’ve decided that I’m going to win because I can do anything for my fans. They have brought me here,” he said emotionally. “I will try my best to win the trophy, and I will do this for my fans.”
Ending on a lighter note, he summed up his approach simply. “My first thought was to enjoy the show. I get to do activities here, I get to play games, and I love playing games.”
