Exclusive | Money Heist's Enrique Arce keen to watch Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, ‘And also Shah Rukh, Aamir Khan’s films'

It suddenly starts to drizzle when we step out with Enrique Arce, heading to the India Gate. As plans for a fun shoot begin to go down the drain (literally), the good-old autorickshaw comes to our rescue.

Enrique continues to be surprised by the love he receives from Indians for his character Arturo in the global hit Money Heist. “I am amazed. I was 45 when I shot for that show, I am 53 today. I didn’t expect that my show would travel to such distant places,” says the Spanish actor, who was invited as a special guest at the just-concluded 1st International Film Festival Delhi (IFFD).

This is his first trip to India. We ask whether he watches content from this part of the world, and he confesses, “I have watched a little… it’s such a big country. You all create content for your own people, there’s enough of a film industry for you/ I am now going to make sure that I watch not only Bollywood, but all language, even independent films from India. I know there are industries like the south here. I am more curious. We don’t necessarily get Indian movies there on TV.”

In fact, he has a list ready, “There is one film I am most intrigued by: Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. Many of the things they showed in that film, in fact happen in the region I come from, like La Tomatina! You don’t know how much it impacted tourism, so many Indians came to Spain. That’s money for Spain, and culture for you guys, it’s a win win situation. Then there are a few names, whose films I want to see: Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor and Aamir Khan.”

As for his experience attending IFFD, he says it felt like a “Bollywood film”, “They called me on stage and made me dance. I was not prepared, and they played Bella Ciao! I would want to come back to India again. If it is with work, amazing! Whatever I get offered here, I would say yes without thinking twice. I visited the Yash Raj Films Studio in Mumbai too.”
