Exclusive | Rashami Desai talks about marriage and motherhood plans

In an exclusive chat with mid-day, Rashami Desai opened up about her personal life, sharing her thoughts on marriage, motherhood and the values she holds close as she looks ahead to the next phase of her journey. Away from television screens for a while now, the actor spoke candidly about her hopes of settling down and starting a family, should she find the right partner.

Rashami Desai reacts to marriage plans

Rashami revealed that marriage is very much on her mind this year. “If I find someone, we will do it. I will definitely share it,” she said, adding optimistically, “This year, as we say, is very auspicious. Being the year of the sun, I think this is a very good year for me. Hoping for the best one.”

When asked about her views on relationships, family structures and parenthood, Rashami acknowledged that every couple chooses their own path. “Everybody is very special, and everyone has their own opinion and the way they celebrate their life,” she said. “Few of them are okay with just a relationship, it’s just a norm. Some accept culture in a certain way, and a few are okay saying we don’t want to have kids, we want to adopt a kid.”

She further noted how belief systems and spirituality also play a role in shaping families. “There are people who say a certain kind of spirituality is part of our family. So when you say a family, things are different,” Rashami shared. “Every couple is unique in their own way.”

Plans on having baby

Speaking about her own plans for motherhood, the actor was clear about her priorities. “I will first get married,” she stated firmly. “Because I am very sure if I adopt or maybe if I have my own child, I want to have a father of my baby.”

Rashami also spoke about her belief in balance and divine energy. “I do believe in Ardhanareeshwar energy, where there is God, so we have both God and Goddess,” she explained. “You can take any religion Hindu, Muslim, Catholic, Sindhi. There is female energy everywhere. So who are we to change that? I would not want to do it.”

Concluding on a hopeful note, she said she is patiently waiting for the right time. “I am waiting now. Which year and when, we will have to do a blessing. Let’s hope it happens soon.”

Beyond her personal life, Rashami continues to thrive professionally, having expanded her footprint across television, OTT, films and even launching her own brand, proving once again that she is an artist of many facets.
