An unusual moment during an IPL 2025 league stage match between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals on May 20 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has gone viral on social media. In a bizarre turn of events, an overly enthusiastic fan leapt from his seat and began mimicking the cheerleaders` dance routines along the boundary line.

The unexpected performance, however, was short-lived. A police officer quickly stepped in to de-escalate the situation and escorted the fan away.

While the off-field antics provided some comic relief, the action on the pitch was equally captivating. Rajasthan Royals ended their season on a high with a commanding six-wicket victory over CSK, comfortably chasing down a target of 188 with 17 deliveries to spare.

Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again showcased his flair, scoring a fluent 57 off just 33 balls to anchor the run chase. Skipper Sanju Samson contributed a composed 41, while Yashasvi Jaiswal added a brisk 36 at the top. Dhruv Jurel finished the job in style, smashing an unbeaten 31 off just 12 deliveries, including several boundaries that thrilled the Jaipur-based team`s supporters.

Earlier in the match, Chennai Super Kings found themselves in trouble after a shaky start, slumping to 78 for 5 despite a brief counterattack from Ayush Mhatre, who struck a fiery 43 off 20 balls. Dewald Brevis (42) and Shivam Dube (39) then orchestrated a gritty middle-order partnership, helping CSK recover to post a competitive total of 187 for 8.

For Rajasthan, the bowling attack delivered crucial breakthroughs at regular intervals. Yudhvir Singh impressed with figures of 3 for 47, while Akash Madhwal was the pick of the bowlers with an economical and incisive spell of 3 for 29.

Despite the spirited performances on both sides, the win came too late in the campaign for either team to salvage a playoff berth. With this result, both Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals bowed out of IPL 2025, finishing their seasons without qualification for the knockout stages.
