Emotions were on display yet again, with Magnus Carlsen suffering a defeat against Arjun Erigaisi at the ninth round of the FIDE World Blitz Championships 2025 in Doha on Monday, December 12.
Carlsen made an error which resulted in the Norwegian losing the game altogether and once again slamming the table in frustration after his defeat to Erigaisi.
This wasn’t the first time Carlsen has done something like this. If you look back to June, earlier this year, he had also slammed the table when he suffered defeat to the reigning World Champion D Gukesh in the sixth round of the Norway Chess tournament.
