Actor and content creator Gaurav Gera recently took fans on a nostalgic journey, recalling his decade-long and unexpectedly intertwined association with superstar Ranveer Singh, a story that began with a viral social media video in 2015 and came full circle on the sets of Dhurandhar in 2025.
Taking to Instagram, Gaurav revisited the moment that first brought him widespread fame: his iconic character Chutki walking into a shopkeeper’s store and innocently asking for inner garments. The video quickly went viral, turning Chutki into a pop-culture sensation and spawning countless memes and laughs across the internet.
Sharing the old Dubsmash clip, Gaurav wrote, “Hum pehle bhi mile hai… Hamza 2015 mein, Chutki aayi thi Shopkeeper ki dukaan par. Bholi si awaaz mein boli : ‘Shopkeeper inner garment Dena’ Video gaya viral. chutkichaddi chutkishopkeeper.”

The story didn’t end there. A few months later in 2015, the same scene resurfaced — but this time with a twist. Chutki found herself face-to-face not with an ordinary shopkeeper, but with Ranveer Singh himself. The dialogue stayed the same, the energy was just as infectious, and the result was another viral hit.
Gaurav shared, “Phir thoda twist aaya, Kuch mahine baad 2015 Mai ..Wahi scene, wahi dialogues.. bas is baar Chutki ko Shopkeeper ki jagah mile RS. Chaddi Nahi mili , Reel bani, woh bhi udi. ChutkiRanveerSingh.”
His iconic scene from Dhurandhar
Fast forward to 2025, and the circle finally completed itself. Gaurav and Ranveer reunited for Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar. Recalling the moment, Gaurav revealed how Ranveer was sent to Aalam Juice Centre for a scene in the film.
He wrote, “Cut to 2025. Das saal baad , Dhar Saab adityadharfilms ne Aalam juice Centre pe ranveersingh ko bheja .. aur RS ne poocha ‘Yahan Koi , kaam milega?’ Dhurandhar.”
Gaurav also shared a warm behind-the-scenes anecdote from the film’s narration session, adding a personal touch to the story. “Ps – I had grown full beard and we all were sitting for the mind blowing narration , was long narration ( now we all know ) .. in the washroom break , I was sitting and RS comes from behind my chair and says .. ‘Chutki washroom jayegi ?’ I was like Leh .. meri itni Dadhi waste ho gayi… That is Him , Sadda Hamza The warm , friendly Superstar.”
