After many rumours, Govinda finally talked about the time when some people tried to break into his house. He said that more than twenty people had gathered outside, and he took steps to scare them off. The actor shared that they were shocked when he came out with a gun. He also said that he pulled out the gun only after calling the police, but no help arrived.
Govinda recalls the tense night at his home
The actor recounted a tense experience when strangers tried to approach his home late at night. Govinda recalled, “There were 22-23 people. I saw them coming in luckily. I first thought they’re here for a party, but they didn’t seem like party people. So I captured their video.”
When his calls to the Mumbai Police went unanswered, he said, “When Mumbai Police didn’t pick up my call, I called the police of another country and asked them to be on the line.” Things escalated further when one of the intruders climbed onto the terrace. Realizing the threat, he explained, “They’d started surrounding me. In the meantime, I called up and informed everybody. I have a licensed gun, so I took it out.” Gathering courage, Govinda then stepped forward and questioned, “Who are you?”
Govinda recalls confronting the mob
Govinda described how the situation unfolded when the group stood silent for a few moments before one of them finally spoke up. “We’re here to fix the power system.” The actor, unconvinced, asked why they were still around after such a long time, but none of them replied. “So I pointed the gun and asked them to leave. They were not expecting that,” he recalled. Rather than digging deeper into who the people were, Govinda chose to move on. “That’s a waste of time. People divert your energy into thinking about all that,” he explained. Reflecting on his mindset, the actor shared, “A good actor can’t work like that. They can either act or react. An actor’s job is to act. If an actor starts reacting to everything anyone and everyone in society is saying, that doesn’t feel nice. Yes, if you stay silent for too long, that silence can be misconstrued as suspicion. Even that’s not good.”
