Govinda‘s daughter Tina Ahuja, who made her Bollywood debut with the romantic comedy Second Hand Husband (2015) alongside Punjabi actor-singer Gippy Grewal, recently shared her journey of overcoming health challenges and losing weight after a nerve spasm.
Tina shared that a turning point came after an accident two years ago, which caused a severe neck spasm. This led to significant weight gain, and she found the change difficult to cope with, going from a 24-inch waist to a UK size 10. “I cried to my dad. I was like, ‘What just happened to me?’ Because coming from a 24 waist to then suddenly coming into UK 10, like, you know, it was quite a thing for me because I was always a UK 6,” she revealed.
Reflecting on her struggles, Tina admitted that the experience was frustrating, saying that there have been days when she felt the need to be left alone. “There have been days where I’ve beaten myself up. There have been days where I’ve been on so much of a strict diet, like, you know, I’ve done that, been there, done that,” she told Bollywood Bubble.

Now, Tina feels positive about her progress but acknowledges that she’s still a “work in progress.” She shared that while she is content with how far she has come, she remains focused on gradually returning to her previous self by taking small steps and consistently showing up every day.
Though her debut film Second Hand Husband didn’t achieve major commercial success, Tina later appeared in the web series Thinkistan and in the movie Bhaiaji Superhitt (2018), alongside Bollywood stars such as Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
