Selecting the right books is essential to maintain a child’s interest in reading. Here are some age-appropriate genres:

Ages 0-5: Picture books, nursery rhymes, and simple stories with colorful illustrations are ideal for this age group.

Ages 6-8: Early readers and chapter books with engaging stories and illustrations are suitable.

Ages 9-12: Middle-grade novels with more complex plots and characters can hold their interest. Genres like fantasy, adventure, and mystery are appealing. Books like “Harry Potter” by J.K. Rowling and “Percy Jackson” by Rick Riordan are great choices.

Ages 13+: Young adult novels that tackle more mature themes and offer deeper character development are appropriate. Genres such as dystopian, science fiction, and realistic fiction can resonate with teenagers. Examples include “The Hunger Games” by Suzanne Collins and “The Fault in Our Stars” by John Green.
