BPGP President Professor Joshi Jacob sees this change clearly. He says the program is designed not only to strengthen managerial fundamentals, but also to help participants think about cross-functional tasks and lead teams in a rapidly changing environment. “The intention is to move participants beyond esoteric expertise to a way of thinking that reflects how decisions are actually made in senior roles,” he says.

The program begins with a Pre-MBA module which consists of online, self-paced preparation modules designed to build the necessary foundation before starting the programme. During this time, participants focus on developing a nuanced understanding of the business, economic, and regulatory environments. They learn real-world applications of management concepts and gain actionable insights into various functions.
In the second year, the focus is on electives, with a set of advanced and specialized courses in various management domains. These include topics like GenAI in Management, The Anatomy of Leading and Leadership, Managerial Applications of Game Theory, Elephants and Cheetahs: Systems, Strategies and Constraints, Not for Sale: Psychology of Promotion, Carbon Finance, New Venture Financing, EdTech and Experiments for Better Decisions. Mixed formats for busy careers
What makes BPGP particularly relevant to working professionals is its method of delivery. The program is organized into six quarters, or “terms”, and follows a blended format. About 80 per cent of the credits are delivered through live, synchronous digital sessions, with the remaining 20 per cent covered through on-campus modules at IIM Ahmedabad.
Live, faculty-led online sessions, supported by VC Now, IIMA’s marketing and technology support partners for the program are scheduled during weekday evenings and weekends, allowing participants to continue their roles alongside the academic workload.
Each session involves a one-week campus module that brings the group together for focused classroom teaching, discussion and group work.
