IND vs AUS 3rd T20I: Tim David, Marcus Stoinis help Australia reach 186 runs

In the third T20I match against Team India, Australia posted a total of 186 runs for the loss of six wickets at the Ninja Stadium in Tasmania.

Having put to bat first, Australia lost the early wicket of its opening batsman, Travis Head, for six runs. He faced just four balls and smashed one boundary. Skipper Mitchell Marsh scored 11 runs in 14 balls, with the help of one boundary.

Josh Inglis, too, departed early on just one run after facing seven balls.

Tim David was the architect of Australia`s innings. Facing just 38 balls, he smashed 74 runs, which was laced with eight boundaries and five maximums. Marcus Stoinis also scored 64 runs in 39 deliveries, including eight boundaries and two maximums.

Mitchell Owen departed on a one-ball duck. Matt Short and Xavier Bartlett stayed unbeaten on the scores of 26 and three runs, respectively.

Short faced 15 balls, and smashed two boundaries and a maximum, whereas Bartlett faced just two balls.

Arshdeep Singh was the most successful bowler for the “Men in Blue”. Completing his quota of four overs, he claimed three wickets by conceding 35 runs. Along with him, mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy bagged two wickets for 33 runs in four overs.

Shivam Dube was another bowler who picked up one wicket for 43 runs in three overs.

Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, and Abhishek Sharma went wicketless in the third T20I match against the Aussies. Bowling four overs, Bumrah gave away 26 runs. On the other hand, Axar was smashed for 35 runs in four overs, and Abhishek leaked 13 runs in one over.

The sixth bowling option was Washington Sundar, but the team opted for the left-arm spin of Abhishek. It had more to do with no left-handers at the crease during a specific time.

The visitors will expect their opening duo, Abhishek and Shubman Gill, to deliver a strong start. Also, the contributions from skipper Suryakumar Yadav in the middle will play a crucial role in deciding the result of the match.

So far, the hosts are leading the five-match T20I series by 1-0.
