IND vs SL, 3rd WT20I: Deepti Sharma equals world record after sensational spell in Trivandrum

Deepti Sharma equalled Megan Schutt’s record for the most wickets in Women’s T20Is after a brilliant performance in the third T20I against Chamari Athapaththu’s Sri Lanka on Friday, December 26, at the Greenfield International Stadium in Trivandrum. The Indian all-rounder drew level with the Australian pacer on 151 wickets, returning impressive figures of 4-0-18-3.

Deepti reached the milestone by dismissing Malsha Shehani in her final over. With that breakthrough, she also became the third-highest wicket-taker in women’s international cricket, taking her overall tally to 333 wickets. Jhulan Goswami tops the list with 355 wickets, followed by Katherine Sciver-Brunt with 335.
