IND vs SL: Smriti Mandhana crosses 10,000 international runs during 4th Women’s T20I vs Sri Lanka

Smriti Mandhana added a new landmark to her already glowing career as she crossed the 10,000 run-mark in international cricket during the 4th Women’s T20I against Sri Lanka in Trivandrum on Sunday, December 28. Mandhana became the fourth player after Mithali Raj, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates and England’s Charlotte Edwards to get to the landmark.

The Indian opener, who has had an indifferent series so far against Sri Lanka, needed 27 runs to go past the mark. Mandhana got to the 4,000-run mark in T20Is during the first match earlier in the month and was looking to find some form as the preparations for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is underway.

Mandhana started her innings with a boundary off the very first ball of the match and then added another soon after as India were looking to set a big total. While Shafali Verma was the aggressor of the two, Mandhana wasn’t ready to be left behind, getting a couple more boundaries in.

The Indian opener got to the landmark with a single in the seventh over.
