India batter Jemimah Rodrigues brings Christmas cheer to team India camp

India batter Jemimah Rodrigues made sure the Christmas fervour hit the national women’s cricket team too in the midst of their T20I series against Sri Lanka.

Despite their intense training sessions for the ongoing five-match series which India leads 2-0, Rodrigues found valuable time to spread some holiday cheer among her teammates, which is evident in the photos the 25-year-old shared, one of which features her being lifted by star batter Smriti Mandhana and ace pacer Arundhati Reddy while the troika sport Santa Claus caps and some brightly coloured outfits. Rodrigues captioned the post: “Home away from home.”

The Indian team is currently in Thiruvananthapuram, where the last three T20Is will be played.

The happy-go-lucky Rodrigues is known to be an entertainer among the current crop of Indian cricketers.

Off the field, she loves playing the guitar and is a fine singer too.

She’s also a skilled hockey player, to the point that India’s ex-national hockey team coach Joaquim Carvalho reckons she can represent the country at the senior level.
