NEW DELHI: MS Dhoni is widely celebrated for his remarkable captaincy in cricket, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Known as “Captain Cool” for his calm demeanor, Dhoni led the Indian national cricket team to victories in all three major ICC tournaments: the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy, making him the only captain to achieve this feat.
Dhoni’s tactical acumen, sharp instincts, and ability to back his players even in challenging situations have been hallmarks of his leadership style.
The key to Dhoni’s success as a captain lies in his ability to remain composed, his keen game awareness, and his skill in managing players, all of which have made him a cricketing legend.
Despite the intense cricketing rivalry between India and Pakistan, Dhoni’s calm demeanor, respectful attitude toward opponents, and undeniable skill have won over fans across borders, including in Pakistan cricket team.
One such Pakistan cricketer who is a fan of Dhoni is Sajid Khan, the spinner who played a pivotal role in Pakistan’s victory in the recent Test series against England.
In a video that is viral on the internet, Sajid Khan is asked by the anchor of a talk show who is his inspiration from around the world and Sajid replies, “The best captain is MS Dhoni, he is very cool and calm, and a successful captain too.”

Known for his classical off-spin bowling, disciplined line and length, and ability to generate bounce, Sajid made his Test debut for Pakistan in 2021. His bowling style, rooted in traditional off-spin techniques, allows him to challenge batsmen with subtle variations, making him a valuable asset on turning tracks.
Sajid’s breakthrough came in the 2021 Test series against Bangladesh, where he impressed with his control and ability to extract turn. In just his fourth Test match, he took an outstanding 8-wicket haul, achieving figures of 8/42 and ending the match with a 12-wicket total, helping Pakistan secure victory.
Sajid made a successful comeback into the Pakistan team when he took 19 wickets in the last two Tests against England at Multan and Rawalpindi to help Pakistan secure a 2-1 Test series victory.
