IPL 2026: Two decisions, won result! KKR and DC rue umpiring decisions

Nitish Rana’s overturned LBW decision (DC vs GT)

DC’s No. 3 batter Rana was given out leg before while trying to paddle sweep GT’s Rashid Khan in the 10th over, when the score was 97-1. Rana, who completed a single in the meantime, took a review and it was found that he got a slight edge off the bat, leading to the decision being overturned. However, as per the rules, since the ball is declared dead as soon as the batsman is given out, Rana’s single didn’t count. Eventually, DC lost the match by just a solitary run. Had Rana’s run been counted, the result could’ve been in favour of DC.

Digvesh Rathi’s catch to dismiss Finn Allen (KKR vs LSG)

Finn Allen

KKR opener Allen, when on nine, was caught just right at the third man fence by LSG’s Digvesh Singh Rathi off Prince Yadav in the second over of the first innings, with the score reading 15-0. However, replays showed that Rathi’s boot had disturbed the boundary line cushion, also known as Toblerones as their shape resembles that of the famous Swiss chocolate. However, the umpire gave the batsman out without checking too many camera angles to get a confirmation. LSG won the match off the last ball. Had Allen been not out, KKR would’ve not only had an extra batsman, but also six more runs, which could’ve changed the outcome of the match.
