West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder has broken Dwayne Bravo’s record for most wickets in T20Is. He achieved the feat during the second T20I against Pakistan on Sunday, August 3 as he ran through the opposition’s batting. Holder registered his third-best figures of his career (4/19) and helped his team restrict Pakistan to 133/9 in 20 overs.
During his spell, he surpassed Dwayne Bravo’s tally of 78 wickets in T20Is. Holder now has 81 wickets from 74 matches at an average of 28.25 and an economy of 8.71 with best figures of 5/27. Apart from his bowling, Holder also contributed with the bat to help his team register a thrilling victory.

Chasing a target of 134, West Indies were reduced to 96/6 when Holder joined Keacy Carty at the crease. The hosts needed 38 runs to win off 23 balls which further came down to 36 needed off the last three overs. However, Romario Shepherd (15 off 11) and Holder stitched a crucial stand of 29 off 16 balls to get their team closer to victory.
There was another twist in the tale as Shepherd got dismissed in the final over with West Indies seven runs away from a win. After losing his partner, Holder took matters into his own hands and guided the last ball for a boundary towards fine leg to seal the win for his team.
He remained unbeaten on 16* (10) as he guided his team home and was also adjudged Player of the Match. As a result, West Indies managed to level the three-match series 1-1, with the last match scheduled to be played on August 4 (IST).
