Manu Bhaker arrived in India today (August 7) to a grand reception at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. A large crowd of fans gathered to cheer for the double Olympic medalist as she returned home. Bhaker’s triumph ended a 12-year medal drought for India’s shooting contingent. She opened India’s medal tally at the Paris Games with a bronze in the 10m Air Pistol event and added another bronze in the 10m Mixed Team Air Pistol event alongside Sarabjot Singh. She narrowly missed out on a third medal in her favored 25m Air Pistol event, finishing in fourth place. Her historic performance concluded with a record two medals, marking a significant achievement for Indian shooting on the Olympic stage.
