New Delhi: Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested Bandhu Man Singh Sekhon, identified as the main shooter in the firing incident at comedian Kapil Sharma’s ‘Kap’s Cafe’ in Surrey, Canada. Sekhon, who fled to India after the attacks, is reportedly linked to notorious gangsters Goldy Brar and Goldy Dhillon. Officials have termed the arrest a major success for the Crime Branch.

Links to Notorious Gangsters
Investigation has revealed that Sekhon is an associate of gangster Goldy Brar and had contact with Goldy Dhillon, a key figure in the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Police are now probing the full extent of these criminal connections, including possible coordination with other operatives in India and abroad.
Kapil Sharma Comments on Past Attacks
During the trailer launch of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in Mumbai, Kapil Sharma addressed the attacks on his Vancouver cafe. He recalled multiple shootings and noted that the incidents had even been discussed in the Canadian Parliament, as reported by ANI.
“These incidents happened in Canada, in Vancouver. I think teen baar vahan pe firing huyi ( I think there were three shootings there)..I think the police don’t have the power to control things. But after that, when our case happened, it went to the federal court… There was a discussion in the Canadian Parliament… ,” Sharma said.
Kapil emphasised that he has never felt unsafe in Mumbai due to the strong law-and-order presence. “I never feel like this in Mumbai or in my country. There’s no one like our Mumbai Police…,” he added.
Latest Shooting in Surrey
In October 2025, Kap’s Cafe was reportedly targeted again in Surrey. According to City News Vancouver, shots were fired at the outlet on 85 Avenue and 120 Street around 3:45 a.m.
Kulvir Sidhu, reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility on social media, stating: “Today’s firing at Caps Cafe, Surrey, was carried out by me, Kulvir Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon. We hold no grudge against the general public. Those who owe us or cheat us will be warned. Bollywood individuals who speak against our religion should also be prepared, bullets can come from anywhere.”
Despite staff being present inside the cafe during the shooting, no injuries were reported. Kapil Sharma and his team have not issued any public statement regarding the incident.
Series of Attacks
This October incident marks the third shooting targeting Kapil Sharma’s restaurant since its opening in July 2025. The first attack occurred on July 10, followed by a second shooting on August 8. Authorities continue to investigate the motive and connections behind these repeated attacks.
