Keegan Carvalho scored a fine brace as Our Lady of Egypt (Kalina) beat St Joseph’s (Juhu) ‘E’ 3-2 in a closely contested first-round match of the 45th Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana rink football tournament at the WCG’s tennis courts on Wednesday.
Anthony Machado scored the third goal for the Kalina side while Gerard Pereira netted both goals for St Joseph’s.
Also, Alymer Gonsalves struck the winning goal as St Francis Xavier (Vasai) beat St John the Evangelist 1-0.
Our Lady of Health (Versova) also pulled off a narrow 2-1 win over Our Lady of Gloria. Chetan Solanki and Pratik Vapilkar scored a goal each for the winners while Nathan Nessiah pulled one back for Our Lady of Gloria.
