KRK arrested after Oshiwara firing

Earlier in the day, Mumbai Police arrested KRK after a firing incident in the Oshiwara area, where he was named the main suspect. Later, police said that the actor fired two shots by mistake while cleaning his gun at home to see if it was working properly.

KRK obtained a gun licence from Uttar Pradesh

According to police officials, Kamaal had secured a gun licence and a firearm from Uttar Pradesh in 2005. After obtaining the weapon, he brought it to Mumbai and kept the licensed gun at his city residence for almost twenty years.

KRK deposited firearms during MCC

A few days back, after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect before the Mumbai civic elections, KRK handed over his gun to the Versova Police Station as required. When the MCC period ended, he took the weapon back. Police said that several days later, while cleaning the gun at his home, he allegedly fired two shots to check if it was working. The bullets reportedly hit a tree on Lokhandwala Back Road.

KRK’s bullets struck a nearby building

However, due to strong winds, the bullets reportedly missed their target and hit the nearby Nalanda building. Fortunately, no one was hurt. After the incident, Oshiwara Police registered a case and began a detailed investigation to determine what exactly happened. Based on their findings and after questioning the actor, police later arrested Kamaal in connection with the firing.
