Megan’s hairstylist and close friend, Kellon Deryck, who has been working with her at the show, confirmed the news: ‘Everyone say a prayer for Megan, we are all at the hospital.’ The official website of Moulin Rouge! The Musical also confirmed that the singer will not be performing in the next matinee or evening performances.

Meanwhile, her representative, Didier Morais, also confirmed the news to The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. “During Tuesday night’s production, Megan started feeling very ill and was promptly transported to a local hospital, where her symptoms are currently being evaluated. We will share additional updates as more information becomes available,” it read.

A post on X read, “Came to see Meg The stallion on broadway and that was short lived. The few opening scenes I saw her in she was great on stage! I was excited BUT… They just stopped moulin rouge mid show apologized to the audience and said ..”stay inside and seated” I asked security if we’re safe .. they told us “for now, we’ll update you if anything changes.”

It confirmed, “Moulan rouge on Broadway has removed Meg the stallion for the night (no explanation as to why) … Announcement just came on in the theatre .. they have removed Meg Thee Stallion from the show as Zidler for the rest of the night. Her part was replaced by a black male actor I’ll get his info bc he’s amazing. We are safe .. show is continuing on without Megan thee stallion.”

More details

In February, it was announced that the Grammy winner was set to make her Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical, where she would play the nightclub impresario Harold Zidler. It was scheduled for an eight-week engagement at the Al Hirshfeld Theatre, beginning on March 24 and ending on May 17.

“Stepping onto the Broadway stage and joining the ‘Moulin Rouge! The Musical’ team is an absolute honor. I’ve always believed in pushing myself creatively and theater is definitely a new opportunity that I’m excited to embrace. Broadway demands a different level of discipline, preparation and storytelling, but I’m up for the challenge and can’t wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me,” Megan Thee Stallion said at the time in a statement.
